Globus is currently seeking a motivated sales focused individual to fill the role of a Direct Group Business Development Manager AR, LA, MS, OK, TX. The ideal candidate would live in Texas but we are open to other states as well. We are looking for someone who has a strong background in the travel industry and outside sales. This position is very heavy in cold calling and prospecting. The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated, results driven team player. The Direct Group Business Development Manager is responsible for the following results:
Generating and increasing sales in the assigned territory by identifying potential sales opportunities, building relationships with assigned direct group accounts and group leaders.
Identify sales and marketing needs for direct group accounts to help build and grow group passenger sales
Monitoring competitor products, services, marketing and sales strategies.
Implementing advertising and sales promotion programs for assigned group accounts through creative marketing campaigns.
Educating group leaders on our products and promotions, and generating and increasing sales, by communicating with established direct group accounts and administering outbound call campaigns.
Negotiating unique deals to secure direct group business with ensuring the overall profitability for GVI
Generate sales by targeting new opportunities, lead follow-up, prospecting and consumer shows.
Recommending changes regarding group and direct channel opportunities and changes in products, services, and policy.
Maintaining contacts, group activities and opportunities in the Siebel customer relationship management system to develop a group production database.
This position may require overnight travel between 50% - 70% including some weekends.
The preferred candidate has noteworthy experience in the following areas:
Developing new channels of business.
Utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and tools to manage sales activities and production.
Leisure travel product knowledge, specifically Globus family of brands products, services, policies, features, and benefits. Strong travel industry knowledge preferred.
Having “bottom-line” accountability
Strong sales background which includes relationship management and a proven track record of increasing business. Business acumen (business knowledge, competitor awareness, organization strategies)
Strong public speaking and group presentation skills
Achieving goals in a self-directed/managed environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
